Yarn Fest

Sundays at the Norman Township Community Center between 1:30-3:30 pm. Bring your knitting or the enthusiasm to learn to knit. Work on the attempt to create the scarf that wrapped itself around the community. We're going for the world's longest scarf for the Guinness Book of World Records.

Crystal Lake Garden Tend

A small plot has been entrusted to the Boosters, and will be tended to throughout the warm months for the community's enjoyment.

Tippy Dam Road Clean-Up

Boosters sponsored the clean-up of Tippy Dam Road twice a year: once in spring, once in the fall. The spring date is scheduled for May 7. Meet at the Norman Township Community Center.

Euchre Tournament

Every 3rd Thursday, meet at the Norman Township Community Center beginning March 20. Concessions. BYOB. For more information, call Marcy Cavanaugh at 231-848-7222.

Backpack Project

Sponsor a backpack for a child in need of supplies who is going back to school. Contact Mickey Buehler at 231-848-4307.

Thank-You Party (April)

An evening of entertainment and hors doerves in appreciation of last year's events sponsors.

Plant Swap (April)

Experts will be on hand to give helpful hints for planting this year. Bring your clippings for trade of sale.

Classic Car Show (May)

Join the Boosters and classic/antique car owners from all over Michigan at the Norman Township Community Center for the 2nd Annual Car Show. Prizes, contests. Free admission to spectators. Contact Audrey Carver at 231-859-4119.

Landscaping Project

Community-wide contest May-September. Beautify your property and our town at the same time. Winners receive gift certificates to Home Depot. Businesses are welcome to participate. Call Mickey Buehler for more information at 231-848-4307.

Kids Fishing Derby (June)

3rd Annual Fishing Derby, sponsored in conjunction with the DNR and the USDA Manistee Forest Service, at Crystal Lake. Food, fun, and prizes as well as instruction and tips from Ranger personnel. Don't miss the cameo appearance by Smokey the Bear!

Up North for the 4th (July)

One of our biggest and favorite events, the festivities go on all day, including a dunk tank, races, contests, and of course, raffles and prizes. Entertainment and socializing, concessions, and a mini-market.

County Fair Admissions (August)

Wellston Boosters will be helping man the ticket boots at the Manistee County Fair in Onekama.

Teen Night (Summers End)

Summer's almost over, and the natives are restless! Swimming, contests, games, snacks, socializing, and entertainment at Crystal Lake and the Norman Township Community Center.

Firemen's Ball (September)

Raising funds for our local volunteer firefighters, a Grand Ball is planned with a spaghetti dinner and dancing.

Salmon Slam (September-October)

Register all season to win trophies and prizes for your catch. End of the season salmon cook-off at Tippy Dam Campground. Date TBA.

Trunk or Treat (October)

Everyone gathers at the Norman Township Community Center for a safe alternative to rural trick or treating. Decorate your car or just bring treats for the kids. Parade of costumes, refreshments, and prizes awarded for costumes and cars alike.

Santa Claus (December)

Santa Claus is coming to town! Visit the Big Guy at the Norman Township Community Center. Date TBA.

Chili Fest

Annual Chili Challenge. Bring your best chili and vote, bring your vote and eat free samples. Euchre tournament, live music, 50/50 raffle. Alcoholic beverages allowed (BYOB and drink responsibly.)
